Pink may be our all-time favorite but this year, Ultra Violet’s the color to embrace! In January, Pantone named 18-3838 the color of the year, meaning pretty soon it’ll pop up everywhere including fashion prints, fitness gear, beauty products, kitchen appliances, and even advertising campaigns.

Instead of just sitting back and watching the sea of purple inundate our most visited online retailers, get a head start on this electric hue by incorporating it into your visual routine now! Here are some of our recs:

We love the idea of easing into this color and think a vibrant manicure is the perfect place to start. butterLONDON offers an entire collection inspired by Ultra Violet, including a line of purple nailpolish, lipgloss, and even eye liner!

Office Accessories:

A bright Moleskine notebook is a classic favorite with a trendy twist and we can’t resist a pop of purple to complement our mostly pink office accessories. Fellow #boss babes may want to stock up on a couple versions to have on deck after filling this one up with to-do lists and on-the-go sketching!

Fitness Gear:

Colorful leggings may seem a bit daring but we’re all about a fluorescent sports bra to peek through our mostly black athletic ensemble. Pick up this one from Lorna Jane and wear under a mesh top for the full effect!

Clothing:

Despite this week’s unexpected 75 degree day, we’re still aiming to get in as many cozy winter weekends as possible. If you need a break from curling up with your Avalon Sweatshirt, shop this oversized cable knit in bright purple!

Kitchen Necessities:

If you daydream about being the next Spring Baking Champion, get motivated to test your culinary creativity with these silicone kitchen tools! This 9-piece set includes everything from a whisk to a set of tongs in various colors of the rainbow, including our new favorite shade of purple.

Girl Power at the Olympics

Written by: Sarah Felbin

Have you been keeping up with the winter Olympics? This year’s Games are taking place in PyeongChang, South Korea, and so far we’ve seen amazing things from Team USA – especially from the girls! Below, we take a look at four female athletes who have already shown the world that sports aren’t just for boys anymore:

Mirai Nagasu, Figure Skater

Mirai.Nagasu.Olympic.Girl.PowerImage from Fansided.

Mirai made headlines earlier this month when she became the first American woman ever to land a triple axel in the Olympics. (Besides her, only two other Olympic athletes have ever successfully completed the same jump.) Watch Mirai’s stunning performance here or learn more about her by visiting her website here.

Favorite Color: Blue

Favorite TV Show: The Big Bang Theory

#goals: “My goal is to accept any challenge that life throws me and to become a better person from each experience. Sounds super cheesy, but it’s my honest opinion. I’m going to make mistakes and have success; I hope that under all circumstances, I can come away from everything as a role model and an inspiration.”

Chloe Kim, Snowboarder

Chloe, at 17, has been turning heads since she arrived at the Olympics earlier this winter. However, after winning the women’s halfpipe gold, she really caught everyone’s attention. She was also the first woman to land consecutive 1080s in the halfpipe at the Olympics. Watch Chloe’s record-breaking run here or follow her on Twitter here!

Lindsey Vonn, Skier

You’ve probably heard of Lindsey Vonn before – if not at this Olympics, then during one of her other three (2002, 2006, and 2010!). Among her many, many achievements, Lindsey holds the American record for most world cup victories and is ranked second in the world. You can buy her book, Strong is the New Beautiful, here, or follow her on Twitter or Instagram!

Our Fave Three Things About Lindsey:

  1. Her ideal day off is our ideal day off. “I’d sit on my couch with a large container of froyo with my dogs, and I would watch Law and Order marathons all day long in my pajamas—a onesie.”
  2. Her dogs have an Instagram! Follow them @vonndogs.
  3. Her Under Armour collection. Adorable, practical, and so chic!

Becca Hamilton, Curler

Becca, who was named USA Curling’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2017, is one half of the U.S. curling team. The other half? Her brother, Matt! The pair are slowly but surely working their way through all of the curling challenges PyeongChang has to offer, and we can’t wait to watch them the rest of the way! You can find Becca on Twitter and Instagram – and welcome to the #HamFam!

Pinkly Perfect’s Guide to a Cozy Night In This Valentine’s Day

valentines.day.night.in

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. While we love the idea of cozying up with our crush, we also know the importance of valuing all the love in our lives. Which is why you may be inclined to practice self-love or a cozy night in with your girlfriends instead of the more typical date night.

Below are products that will certainly add to a night of relaxing and indulging this February 14th.

Philosophy Fresh Cream Body Lotion:

The winter months can be unkind to our skin. Philosophy Fresh Cream body lotion brings the spa to you with this creamy lotion that smells like a batch of freshly made cream. Lather up as you get ready to settle in for a night of relaxing.

Jars by Dani:

Jars by Dani is one of our favorites because it is 1. Delicious, 2. Convenient, and 3. Oh so pretty! We especially love the Valentine’s Day theme jars and think picking up a pack of 6 would be perfect for a girls’ night in.

Wine:

be.flirty.wine

Call us millennials but we’re all about inexpensive wine with clever packaging. We particularly love this bottle of Be.Flirty Moscato since it’s so on Valentine brand.

Minnie Rose Slippers:

How can you get cozy without an appropriate wardrobe? Minnie Rose slippers are the perfect treat yourself gift to stay comfy and cute as you cuddle up on the couch with your besties.

TV Marathon:

Rather than watch Bravo reruns, opt for a new series to binge watch that’s both addicting and completely captivating. We recommend The Crown, Riverdale, Gilmore Girls, or Black Mirror.

However you decide to celebrate, we hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day!

If Pinkly Perfect Could Name the Conversation Candy Hearts

In our opinion, the most iconic Valentine’s Day candies are the conversational hearts. Every February, we cannot resist the pastel Necco Sweethearts as both festive decorations and the sweetest little treats!

Below, we listed what our conversation hearts would say if it were up to Pinkly Perfect!

BEACH BABE

PPCandyHeartsBeachBabe

Because Pinkly Perfect girls are beach babes, regardless of the season.

VACAY

PPVACAYCANDYHEART

All a Valentine has to do is take us on a tropical vacay, and we’re hooked.

#GOALS

PPCANDYHEARTGOALS

We stay motivated regardless of our current relationship status. #Goals

XOXO, BOSS

PPXOXOBOSS

Pinkly Perfect girls are boss babes just as much as they’re beach babes!

UR PERFECT

PPYOURPERFECT

One of our most classic PP saying, “You’re Perfect” is the ultimate love note.

GIRL POWER

PPGIRLPOWERCANDYHEART

The best thing about PP girls is that Valentine’s Day is just about their girls as it is their men!
