Now that the holiday season is quickly approaching, I’ve started spending a lot of time researching recipes to make this Thanksgiving and Christmas for my friends and family. Baking, in particular, is also a perfect activity for weekends when you’d rather stay inside than go out in the cold. Plus, you wind up with some yummy treats to enjoy and get to gift them to your friends as a one-of-a-kind treat!
Obviously, I’m partial to all things pink so when I found a recipe for Strawberry Shortcake Scones, I knew I had to make them. Even though strawberries may not be in season, they are still available in grocery stores and are a perfect reminder of warmer months. Breakfast items are also the perfect gift to give a host of a holiday party. Think about it—everyone will be bringing cookies or beverages, but what they really deserve is to have a relaxing morning after hosting everyone the night before! So why not bring a breakfast treat they can enjoy with their morning coffee as they reminisce about how wonderful the night prior was??
Seriously, how can you look at this picture and not want to make some yourself??
The recipe from Very Culinary was super easy to follow and made 12 delicious scones with a vanilla glaze that I am already wishing I didn’t gift away. My only issue with the recipe was that it made a lot of glaze. So if you’ve got a sweet tooth, by all means lay it on there! But if not, try altering the recipe for smaller portions or find another recipe you can use the extra glaze on!
