Beachy Phone Cases for Summer Selfies

The summer sun and sand may feel great for us beach babes but it can cause serious damage to our cell phone cases if we’re not careful. Not only can our phones get overheated, but they can also get covered in sunscreen, ocean water, chlorine, sweat, and sand when not properly protected.

Our first recommendation is to always carry a pouch in your beach bag for the smaller, more valuable items. Pinkly Perfect now sells a Bradley Zip Pouch, that is the ideal size for your phone, sunglasses, and cash while taking a dip in the pool or dashing to the ice cream truck.

Our second piece of advice is to invest in a quality phone case. Below are our summer picks for the most stylish and practical covers for our most valuable personal item!

Hitcase

Shielf for iPhone 6/6S, $54.99

waterproof.cell.phone.caseThe last thing we want to worry about when strolling the beach is dropping our cell in the ocean. With a waterproof case that also happens to be a perfect shade of pink, we know our phone is both safe & stylish!

Pool & Floaties iPhone X Case

Kate Spade New York, $55

Kate.Spade.Pool.Float.Phone.CaseWe are obsessed with this pool-inspired case and think it’s oh so perfect for when we’re actually poolside this summer.

Ban.do

Sunblock iPhone 8 Case, $32

ban.do.sunblock.phone.caseA reminder to reapply! Not only does this case protect our cell, but it’ll also serve as a reminder to protect our skin in the summer sun.

Richmond & Finch

Pink Flamingo, $46

richmond.finch.phone.caseWhat’s more beachy than a flock of flamingos?!

Casery

Pineapple Top iPhone Case, $28.00

Pineapples are going nowhere and this phone case is no exception. We love the placement of the pineapple and think it will be a perfect reminder of summer all year.

Beachy Emojis That Are Noticeably Missing

While our summer emoji game is pretty strong with frequent use of the mermaid, seashell, bikini, ice cream cone, and palm tree, there are some beachy icons that are very noticeably missing from our text convos and social media interactions.

Consider the below our petition to have summer last all year on our phones as well as through our Pinkly Perfect accessories:

Flamingo Emoji:

pink.flamingo.emoji

Whyyyyy is there not a flamingo emoji yet? There’s not even something similar we can sub for this pretty pink bird that is popping up everywhere from pool floats to beach towels to drinkware.

Hermit Crab Emoji (Preferably painted in rainbow colored flowers):

painted.hermit.crab.emoji

If you didn’t have a hermit crab when you were growing up, did you really vacation at the Jersey shore? Nothing would say nostalgia to your beach besties better than sending a vibrantly painted hermit crab emoji while trying to pass the time while studying for finals this spring.

Flip Flop Emoji:

flip.flop.emoji

Again, we see no reason for this one. Yes, there are footprints but that is not enough. I would like to send a cute pair of flip flops when asking my friends to join me for summer shopping or when reminding my fiancé to pack the ultimate summer sandal for our beach getaways. Would pair perfectly with the bikini and the beach umbrella. Sigh.

Seahorse Emoji:

pink.seahorse.emoji

So we may want this one a little more than most given Pinkly Perfect’s logo, but we also think it’d be useful for a bunch of other beach inspired brands that also honor this majestic sea creature as an important part of their branding techniques.

What beachy emojis are you missing?! Let us know in the comments section below!

With Spring Break just around the corner and summer creeping up quicker than ever, it’s time to take inventory of warm weather essentials and stock up for the new season!

One trend we are completely into right now is the novelty beach towels. It’s so easy to hang onto old high school towels and not splurge on something that just gets sandy anyway, but after you take a peek at some of our new favorites on the market, you’ll see why it’s worth an upgrade!

We’re Dreaming of a White (Sand) Christmas | Beachy Ornaments You Need RN

beachy.christmas.ornaments

One of my favorite things about going home for the holidays is decorating our Christmas tree. Like most parents, mine saved all of our handmade creations from when we were kids, my favorite being a cutout gingerbread man made purely of brown construction paper, crayons, and a green pipe cleaner.

Our tree may not be “beautiful” in a photographed for Town & Country way, but it reminds us of the simplicity and excitement of our youth as well as our different (and very short) musical instrument and sport phases.

While my ornaments are mostly old arts & craft projects and Madeline-themed, I’ve recently started collecting more summer inspired knick-knacks to embrace my number #1 wish on every Christmas list—my own beach obsessed brand. Below are some I’m currently eyeing that I know you will love too!

Pink Seashell JOY

$40 from The Mermaids Box on Etsy

pink.seashell.ornament

This beautiful ornament from Etsy combines a quintessential Christmas sentiment with vintage and found seashells in our favorite shades of pink. We love it for our tree this year or just to hang in our office for a pink pick-me-up this holiday season!

Feathered Flamingo Ornament

$20 at Anthropologie

For us to truly be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons this Christmas season, we’re loving the idea of trading in our reindeer and snowmen for a sparkly and feathered pink flamingo ornament. This one from Anthropologie will surely stand out from the crowd.

Sunny Life Pineapple Ornament

$7 at Shopbop

pineapple.ornament

A pineapple a day keeps the scrooge away! That’s the saying, right? The pineapple is largely used in the South to convey hospitality, warmth, and friendship, which is why we think a pineapple ornament is perfect for welcoming family and friends in for some hot chocolate and holiday cheer this winter. At only $7, we especially love this Sunny Life one.

Blowfish Ornament

$7.50 at Pottery Barn

If the puffer fish in Finding Nemo was your favorite character, you’ll love this beautiful pink glass blowfish ornament from Pottery Barn. While you’re online shopping, check out their other sea-inspired decorations, including angel fish, seashells, and lifesavers.

Beach Bag Must Haves

beach.bag.accessories.perfect.for.summer

While summer may be “ending,” we at Pinkly Perfect genuinely believe the best beach days are ahead of us! There’s still two weeks left before LDW and September is the shore’s best kept secret. The beaches are quiet, the water is warm, and it’s not boiling hot anymore. If you’re planning on soaking up the sun as much as we are, make sure your beach bag is stocked with all the necessities to maximize your beach day. Check out our “beach bag must-haves” below!

Newport Cosmetic Bag

$20 at pinklyperfect.com

PinklyPerfectNewportBagSummerReminders

Maybe you’re more careful than I am but whenever I forgo a smaller bag and simply toss my valuables straight into my beach bag, they end up all sunscreen-sticky and full of sand. To prevent this mess and the chance of wondering if your phone’s still receiving texts, make sure you pack a Newport Cosmetic Bag to store all your important stuff.

Headphones

pink.headphones

The easiest way to avoid a beach tagger pestering you about where your beach tag is by pretending you’re asleep. Headphones are necessary for this strategy as you genuinely won’t be able to hear them ask you! Instead of splurging, pick up a pretty pink & printed pair for $16.99 at target.com.

Traceless Hair Tie

pink.creaseless.hairtie

Let’s face it. We love getting our natural summer highlights but we know how beach days really mess up our hair. If you’re hoping your blowout will last you all weekend, make sure you pack some invisibobble, the original traceless hair ring. Available in every color imaginable (we prefer pink!), this telephone cord shaped hair ring will evenly distribute pressure along the hair, thus preventing a hair crease, headache, and even split ends!

Spry Stronger Longer Chewing Gum

spry.chewing.bubblegum

If your summer diet includes endless iced coffees, ice cream cones, and frozen margaritas, you’re going to need some extra help keeping your teeth clean and healthy all summer long. Switch out your current gum of choice for Spry Stronger Longer Chewing Gum, available for $5.99 at xlear.com. Spry gum tastes amazing, eliminates bad breath (hello, lifeguards!), while also cleaning your teeth and preventing cavities. Perfect!

Sunblock

clear.face.sunscreen

Sun block is a beach girl’s best friend. While getting tan is certainly always a summer goal of ours, getting sunburn is definitely not. Prevent going back to school with blistering, peeling skin and reapply sunscreen every couple hours. Our pick is Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen, which will help prevent breakouts too!

Best Beach Preservation Organizations to Donate to this Summer

beach.organizations.donations

Written by: Sarah Felbin

What would summer be without beach days? No matter what beach you go to or where in the country you are, long hours spent swimming and sunbathing are a big part of our favorite season – we can’t live without them! But beach days are only as good as the beaches you spend them at, and those beaches rely on our conservation efforts to stay beautiful for many summers to come.

Wondering how you can help? Donating to one of the hundreds of beach preservation organizations out there is a great place to start! See below for five of our favorites and make an impact on the beaches you love.

Clean Ocean Action is an organization dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s beaches from pollution, trash, and other substances that can be dangerous to wildlife. They also provide current news articles to inform the public about important political and policy developments that may affect the Jersey shore. If you aren’t in a position to make a monetary donation, you can donate your time and participate in one of their Beach Sweeps instead!

Oceana is dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans on a global scale.” Focusing mainly on repopulating and diversifying our oceans, Oceana aims to educate the public and pass legislation to raise awareness and affect change in the way we use the resources that cover 70% of our Earth. If donating money seems like a big commitment, you can sign up to receive their free weekly publication via e-mail, which includes updates about their work and action alerts.

The Surfrider Foundation is an organization created by surfers that works to “ensure clean water, healthy ocean and coastlines and accessible beaches for all.” They also have a strong focus on conservation and passing legislation – one of their biggest victories was banning plastic bags, which can be largely harmful to marine life, in many establishments in California. You can donate, sign up for their free newsletter, or find ways to volunteer at your local Surfrider chapter on their website.

The Plastic Oceans Foundation aims to educate the public about the dangers of plastic floating in our oceans. Their documentary, A Plastic Ocean, is a great place to start for those who want to learn more! You can donate as much or as little as you would like, and you can even donate to the organization’s other headquarters in the United Kingdom, Canada, or Hong Kong. Or, follow them on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for regular updates!

Mission Blue, also known as the Sylvia Earle Alliance, educates the public about marine conservation and Hope Spots under the direction of Dr. Sylvia Earle, who has dedicated her life to protecting and researching the ocean and its creatures. To learn more, you can watch their film, Mission Blue, on Netflix or research any of Dr. Earle’s other works (she even has a TED Talk!). Even if you can’t donate, their website is a great resource for those who love the ocean and want to learn more about its depths.

Written by: Sarah Felbin

With sales already made in 19 different states across the country, Pinkly Perfect is growing now more than ever – which means you probably see other pink-loving fashionistas at the beach every weekend without knowing it. (So sad!) Fortunately for you, we created an easy 5-step guide to help find other Pinkly Perfect girls no matter what state you’re in!

1) She never goes anywhere without her trusty tote!

Any Pinkly Perfect girl knows that a carry-all tote bag is an absolute must. It holds her favorite beach-day essentials in the summer and is a perfect grab-and-go closet must have in the winter. As we’ve always said, half the world’s problems could be solved if only we had something to carry them in! (Also, it’s the perf accessory that goes with literally any outfit. Need we say more?)

2) Her beach bag is flawlessly organized.

PinklyPerfectYourePerfectPouchK

Pinkly Perfect’s Newport “You’re Perfect” Cosmetic Bag, $20.00

A Pinkly Perfect girl gets it: Your beach bag holds everything you need for a perfect vacay day. Phone, coffee money, sunglasses, sunscreen, beach reads, games, flip flops – and that’s only the start! Naturally, then, her beach bag can be kind of messy. That’s why she always carries a pouch with her for the small stuff… And the glitter is just an extra bonus!

3) She knows who run the world: Girls!

PinklyPerfectBossBracelet

Pinkly Perfect’s “Boss” Madison Bracelet, $24.00

Pinkly Perfect girls always go after what they want, whether that’s a frappuccino with extra whipped cream or their own fashion line with worldwide press. They are firm believers in girl power and like to share their wisdom with everyone they meet, and what better way to do that than with style?

4) Summer is her favorite season.

PinklyPerfectAVSweatshirtWhite

Pinkly Perfect’s White Avalon Sweatshirt, $48.00

This one goes without saying, but a Pinkly Perfect girl’s favorite season starts with June and ends with August! While it may not be warm and sunny 365 days a year, a Pinkly Perfect girl is always in a summer state of mind and never stops looking on the bright side. Summer vibes only!

5) There’s a lot of beaches in the world, but only one beach is her beach!

PinklyPerfectAvalonKeychain1

Pinkly Perfect’s Coordinate Keychains (Avalon, shown), $18.00 each

No two beaches are alike, something every Pinkly Perfect girl knows goes without saying. Whether she goes to Avalon, Cape May, or Ocean City, her beach is her happy place, and she’s at her best when she’s by the sea. She carries a little piece of the shore with her wherever she goes, and she’s already planning next year’s Memorial Day trip before Labor Day is over! (She does, however, hide her white shoes just in time.)

Best Beaches with Pink Sand

pinkly.perfect.pink.sand.beaches

Ever scroll through your Instagram feed and see the most magical beach with pink sand and perfect bright aqua waves? While we love our East Coast beaches and argue that even though the water may be slightly brown and the sand a bit grainy, there’s nothing that can compare to the beach we grew up vacationing in, we can’t help but daydream about what it would be like to lay out on pink sand and sip a pink mocktail with our besties.

Below we listed some famous beaches with pink sand and dive a bit deeper into what exactly makes the sand our favorite color. Check it out and get ready to book a trip to somewhere tropical!

Elbow Beach, Bermuda

The beaches of Bermuda are widely known for their crystal clear ocean water, but did you also know that their sand is a pale pink color? Elbow Beach, named because its shape is similar to the curve of an elbow, is a mile long beach that has pink sand and calm waves, perfect for swimming and working on that perfect tan.

Harbour Island, Bahamas

Pink sand made up of pieces of coral, calcium carbonate, broken shells, and minute rocks covers about three miles of the beautiful beaches of Harbour Island, Bahamas. Harbour Island is also home to one of the top dive sites in the world. Plan your trip to Harbour Island here!

Elafonisi Beach, Crete, Greece

(picture shown above)

Elafonisi, a tiny island in Greece, has pink sand as a result of tiny oysters named Foraminifera, who have red shells that are crushed in the sand to produce a pretty pink hue. Tourist season is July and August so book a last-minute getaway to see it in person!

Playa de Ses Illetes, Formentera, Spain

Take a boat from Ibiza to walk along the Playa de Ses Illetes in Formentera, Spain. You’ll be greeted with beautiful warm ocean water, pink sand, and various bike paths. Be careful though! While the scenery is quite stunning, the area is also known for an abundance of jelly fish!
