Pinkly Perfect Spotted in {un}covered’s Holiday Gift Guide!

One of my goals for Pinkly Perfect’s first ever holiday season was to be featured in a gift guide. And yesterday, I found out that that came true! Yay! We were lucky enough to be featured alongside brands like Peace Love World, Skinit, and Just Chill in {un}covered’s Holiday Gift Guide: 25 Perfect Picks For the Beach Babe.

Not only are we feeling honored to be in such great company, but we’re also majorly eyeing this gift guide. If you have some beach babes in your life and need to do some last-minute shopping, look no further. Or, if you’ve been neglecting the most important person on your Christmas list—yourself!—then go ahead and shop! (Trust me: I’ve been doing plenty of this recently.)

On a personal level, the holidays have been a little difficult this year so the press could not have come at a better time. It was the perfect pick-me-up to close out a tough week and have me looking forward to new beginnings next week!

Check out the entire beach babe gift guide here and remember to shop summer this Christmas at pinklyperfect.com.

My Favorite Summer Reminders (Besides Pinkly Perfect)

It’s no secret that I designed Pinkly Perfect to be perfect reminders of the best three months of the year. But that doesn’t mean I don’t really, really enjoy other brands and how they’re capturing the magic of summer. Check out my favorite things below:

Beach Walk Perfume

I bought this perfume rollerball a couple weeks ago during a catch up sesh at Sephora with my bestie. Anything named “Beach Walk” is already a pretty easy sell for me, but this perfume smells SO refreshing and summery, that I couldn’t wait to start wearing it every day. I even put it on if I’m planning to stay inside in my Margate leggings for an evening of Netflix and blog writing ;). (Pictured above with Pinkly Perfect Madison Bracelet.)

Mermaid Kisses Body Wash

I don’t really need to say anything else other than this is called Mermaid Kisses and we think that’s pretty perfect. Buy this beachy body wash here!

Beachy Cookie Cutters

It’s not the holidays until you start baking and shopping! And some quintessential Christmas cookie recipes require cookie cutters. So why not mix it up and throw in some seashells or flip-flops with your typical candy cane and gingerbread men this holiday season?

Seahorse Coffee Mug

If you’re following me on Instagram, you know this girl loves her coffee. Partly because more often than not, the Pinkly Perfect workday starts very early (hint: it begins with a 4) and I need some help to get me through the day. This seahorse coffee mug is one of my favorites because 1. It’s massive 2. It reminds me of summer and 3. My bestie gave it to me last Christmas! Perfect.

Welcome to Pinkly Perfect! Cape May, NJ and Laguna Beach, CA

Since our launch in April, Pinkly Perfect has gotten SO many requests from summer lovers looking to rep their favorite beach town with our zip code bracelets and coordinate keychains! Turns out I may have been on to something with this beach town pride thing…

While I hope someday very soon I can provide perfect summer accessories for every beach town in the USA, I have had to make some baby steps and add only the most requested for now.

That is why I am so excited to introduce Cape May, NJ and Laguna Beach, CA to Pinkly Perfect!

Both beach towns now have coordinate keychains available on pinklyperfect.com and rumor has it you can purchase them all in person at Serendipity Shops of Doylestown and the Cape May items at Pete Smith’s Surf Shop. Hint: for a limited time Pete Smith’s also the only place you can buy Cape May, NJ bracelets.

Cape May, NJ Zip Code Bracelet available at Pete Smith's Surf Shop and our Madison Bracelet available at pinklyperfect.com and Serendipity Shops of Doylestown and Avalon.

Perfect Halloween Costumes for Your Pooch

Written by: Maureen Devenny

NYC is a center of fashion, so it’s no surprise that the dogs who came in costume to the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade in NYC, considered the largest costume dog parade in the world, were dressed to the nines.

Last week, we dished on how to incorporate Pinkly Perfect gear into your Halloween costume. We didn’t want to leave Girl’s Best Friend out of the fun, so here is a roundup of pink, perfect, and beachy costumes from this weekend’s parade. It’s not too late to pick one for the Fido in your life!

Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian graced the parade with underwater style.

These pooches are sweet enough, even without all the candy surrounding them! Their owners were dressed as a gumball machine and a bottle of Sprite.

This guy was dressed like popcorn, one of the best summer treats. If only it were caramel apple popcorn...

This pooch embodies everything we love about fashion: confidence, attitude, and pink, pink, pink.

We’re obsessed with ice cream here at Pinkly Perfect, so obviously this ice cream truck manned by two French bulldogs tickled our fancy.

Check out more photos from the parade here.

Shop Pinkly Perfect Fall Favorites, Now Low In Stock

Time is flying in the Pinkly Perfect office! Which is great news considering we’re still 221 days away from Memorial Day 2017… 🙁

Anyway! We can’t believe that our Fall capsule collection has already been on our website for almost a month! Luckily, we’ve had a great selling season so far but that means some of your favorites may be running low in stock. Just in case you’re waiting to collect more babysitting money before picking up your next Pinkly Perfect piece, here’s a little update on what’s running low:

Newport Cosmetic Bag, Reminders of Summer ($20):

Patches. Patches. Patches. Patches. Patches. That’s what we kept hearing for fall and we listened! So we snagged some perfect pink ice cream cone and flamingo patches and scattered them on our best-selling Newport Cosmetic Bag. Not only is it super cute, but it’s also made in the USA, incredibly sturdy, and stands on its own, meaning it’s perfect for holding all your makeup for a weekend getaway somewhere warm.

Dennis Greeting Card, Let’s Drink Pink Lemonade ($6):

One of my favorite additions to the Fall collection was partnering with Honizukle Press to create an exclusive for Pinkly Perfect line of greeting cards. So much of our merchandise is perfect for gift-giving that we decided to make it even easier for our customers. And it’s been such a hit that our perfect pink card that reads “let’s drink pink lemonade and pretend it’s summer” is running way low. If you try to buy from us and we’re already sold out, check out Mia’s Christmas Gallery in Ocean City, NJ or Serendipity Shops in Doylestown, PA, who are also carrying this Pinkly Perfect favorite.

Cape Cod Pouch, It’s Summer Somewhere ($18):

No surprise here! Our made in the USA Cape Cod Pouch has been our top seller BY FAR this season. We think that has something to do with the pink glitter and perfect summer saying “it’s summer somewhere” with pink lemonade graphic. If this Cape Cod Pouch is on your wish-list, pick it up now before we sell out. 🙂

How to Wear Pinkly Perfect in Your Halloween Costume

Written by: Maureen Devenny

There’s a bite in the air and PSL’s are available at Starbucks, which means only one thing: Halloween is just around the corner. If you’re still undecided about what to dress as on October 31, Pinkly Perfect is here to help. Incorporate these PP pieces into your costume and avoid looking like Lindsay Lohan this Halloween.

1) Snapchat flower crown filter

You’re lying if you deny that this is your favorite filter. Make a crown out of silk flowers to avoid wilting–here’s a nice tutorial–and pop on your Wildwood Coverup for that breezy Coachella vibe.

2) Abbi from Broad City

Our favorite bestie duo is #goals. While Ilana’s look is, um, difficult to capture, Abbi’s look is a little easier to create. Dress like a trainer at Soulstice: get a black tank top and write “TRAINER” on it with a gold paint pen, and pop on your Fire Island Shorties to complete the look.

Dress like your favorite funny lady. Photo here.

3) Swimmer Katie Ledecky

This girl’s performance in Rio this summer blew us out of the water. Is there a better way to keep summer going, and be a total badass on Halloween, than to dress like her? Pop on your favorite one piece (if you don’t have one, a leotard or tight-fitting tank top and Fire Island shorties will do) and throw a Laguna Beach towel around your neck–don’t forget the four gold medals! Slide into Sanibel flip-flops if the weather permits.

Katie Ledecky, you are amazing. Photo here.

And while we’re at it…

4) The Final Five

This is a great costume for the whole group. You and four friends don your Margate leggings and athleisure jackets, put your hair in a tight pony, and have fun with makeup that emphasizes your eyes. Once again, don’t forget the gold medals!

Is it too late for us to become gymnasts? Photo here

5) No matter what you dress as…

…make sure you have your Montauk tote on you! Whether you’re trick-or-treating around the neighborhood or getting ready for a costume party at your friend’s house, this tote is a Halloween must-have.

How are you incorporating your Pinkly Perfect gear into your Halloween costume? Tell us in the comments below.

My Favorite Things About the Jersey Shore in the Fall

I’m the first to admit that my favorite place and time of the year is Avalon, New Jersey in the summer. However, this week I was lucky enough to do a little mid-week getaway with my mom to the Jersey shore and I was reminded of how perfect it is in the fall.

While there’s no doubt I’d take a summer day at the beach over a fall one, there are some pretty nice things about the Seven Mile Island in September. Check out the list below:

There’s no line at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House:

A trip to Avalon or Stone Harbor, NJ is not complete without unlimited coffee and a stack of pancakes from Uncle Bill’s Pancake House. The only problem is that in the summer, everyone agrees, which means getting a table will most likely mean waiting outside for 15-20 minutes. However, in September and October, you can cruise right in with five of your besties at 10:30 AM on a weekend morning and get right to deciding between pumpkin, banana nut, or chocolate chip pancakes.

You can find a spot to park on 96th Street in Stone Harbor:

^ NEVER happens from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend.

There’s still great shopping:

Everyone knows the best stores in Avalon, NJ are The Preppy Palm and Serendipity and guess what?! They’re STILL OPEN in the off-season. After brisk walk on the beach and breakfast with your besties, stroll in and find perfect gifts for your friends and family (or yourself). Don’t forget to pick up your Pinkly Perfect merch by the register at Serendipity! 🙂

You can be lazy:

In the summer, there’s a lot to pack into a two-day weekend and if you decide to stay inside for a couple hours reading perfect beach books or watching your latest Netflix-binge, you could actually feel weirdly guilty about not spending that time on the beach. In the off-season though, bring on Scream Queens, leggings, and board games with your friends and cozy up to a day indoors, no guilt attached.

Fall 2016 Festivals at the Jersey Shore

Written by: Sarah Haurin

Your Jersey Shore fun doesn’t have to end with the arrival of colder weather. Check out these fun fall festivals hosted in your favorite beach towns throughout the month of October 2016!

Love pumpkin spice everything? Check out any of the Oktoberfests being held at your favorite Jersey shore towns. Highlands (Oct. 1), Seaside Heights (Oct. 2), Belmar (Oct. 9), and Sea Isle City (Oct. 22) are each hosting their own German festivals throughout the month of October, and each promises food, games, music, and fun autumn activities for the whole family.

If you can’t get enough of The Walking Dead or simply love anything that calls for a costume, Highlands’ Zombie Fest is definitely for you. Put on your best zombie attire and march through town in a parade before enjoying food and drinks! The parade begins on October 15th at 10am in Huddy Park.

Anyone who wants to show off costume-making skills for anything other than the undead (or anyone who wants to show off his or her zombie costume more than once) can participate in the various parades hosted throughout October. Sea Isle’s parade on October 21 includes a dance party, and Cape May’s takes place on October 22.

Love costumes but not into the idea of dressing up yourself? Middletown’s Thompson Park Day may be just the event for you. Dress up your dog for their dog costume contest or simply enjoy the food, scarecrow contest, and pumpkin painting.

Whichever festival you choose to celebrate the beginning of cooler weather and pumpkin baked goods, you’ll be sure to have a blast while reminiscing on your summer beach memories in your favorite towns.
