The sun is officially out and temperatures are finally no jacket required as we get closer and closer to Memorial Day Weekend back at our favorite beach towns! While Pinkly Perfect’s given you many reasons to buy beach inspired fashion in the off-season, we are so happy to launch our first capsule of the Summer 2018 collection.

Below are our favorites:

Avalon Sweatshirt, Flamingo Besties:

PinklyPerfectGreySweatshirtFlamingo

Not only is our best selling sweatshirt back, but it’s better than ever with a pink pair of flamingos.

Forever Avalon, NJ Embroidery Patch:

PinklyPerfectForeverAvalonBadge

This may be our favorite new addition as it’s something completely new! Our “Forever Avalon, NJ” patches are 2” x 2” and can be sewn onto literally anything from your backpack to your beach bag to your beach towel to your denim jacket. We love this as a little “card stuffer” to include as a bonus birthday gift.

Bar Harbor Hat, Blue Denim:

PinklyPerfectBarHarborHat

We first introduced the Bar Harbor Hat last summer and quickly sold out! This year, we added a washed blue denim as more of a neutral color and we can’t help but be reminded of something MK & A would wear. 😉

Dennis Greeting Card, Bikini vs. Ice Cream Card:

PinklyPerfectBikiniCard

A “just because” card gets a summer makeover with the ultimate struggle that beach babes face every June-August. “My mind says bikini but my heart says three scoops and extra sprinkles.”

Best Food Spots in Avalon, NJ

Written by: Lauren Carroll

Lauren.Carroll.Love.Philly.Food

Shore season may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare for next year! I’m Lauren and I run the food Instagram @love_phillyfood. I started my account about three years ago and post food from wherever I am, which is mostly Philadelphia, its suburbs and Avalon, NJ. I have grown up going to Avalon and it’s one of my absolute favorite places. I am here to share 5 of my favorite places to eat while down the shore.

Sundae Best: You can’t beat homemade ice cream, especially when there are TONS of flavors to choose from. Sundae best offers the best of the best. When I’m down the shore I eat ice cream so much, it’s probably not normal. My favorite flavors here are: mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, chocolate malt crunch yogurt, chocolate peanut butter and french silk (which I just discovered this year, so good! It’s a mocha mousse ice cream with chocolate chips—yum!) Ice cream always looks more photogenic in a cone, so I typically order it in one, take the pics, and then get a cup on the side so it doesn’t melt!

pinkly.perfect.sundae.best.ice.cream

Fishin’ Pier Grille: The Fishin’ Pier is a staple in Avalon. I have been going here my entire life. We were known as the bagel kids for years because my cousins and I would sit on their boardwalk bench and each order a bagel and lemonade. The restaurant is run by the nicest family and they have the BEST food. I either order the chocolate chip pancakes or chocolate chip french toast (do you see a theme that I love chocolate?) and they are SO good. They have specials each summer that keep up with the trends (hint: avocado toast) and always have fresh and delicious toppings for their pancakes and french toast. Pictured are the chocolate chip pancakes with my Pinkly Perfect Keychain in the background 🙂

pinkly.perfect.pancakes.avalon.nj

29th Street Deli and Grill: Attached to Avalon Supermarket, the 29th Street Deli and Grill has the best breakfast sandwiches and lunch options! My mom and I always split a bacon, egg and cheese on a (sandwich-sized) english muffin. Pro tip: call ahead so you can just pick it up and not have to wait! I also highly recommend the Mediterranean Flattite for lunch, which is hummus, roasted red peppers, feta, and avocado on a grilled flatbread. I always try to show off my Pinkly Perfect bracelet while getting the perfect food shot of stacks of sandwiches. They always look so appetizing and do so well on Instagram.

pinkly.perfect.breakfast.sandwich.avalon

Whitebrier: If you are looking for a delicious dinner, I love the Whitebrier. With endless options from sushi to burgers, everyone can find something they enjoy. I typically order sushi, but couldn’t resist getting the truffle parm fries after seeing them walk by my table countless times.

pinkly.perfect.french.fies.shore

Kohler’s Bakery: If you are looking for the best donuts or sticky buns on the island, this is the place. Luckily my house is on the same street, so it’s super convenient to get to. The lines are always massive, but it’s worth it and they have their process down! My favorite thing to get is the chocolate cruller. I like asking for my treats in a box, as opposed to a bag, because it’s easier to get the perfect shot with everything at once.

Pumpkin Ice Cream at the Jersey Shore

all.the.places.you.can.get.pumpkin.ice.cream.at.the.shore

Written by: Meghan Reggi

It’s no secret that pumpkin-flavored treats are highly coveted this time of year, and their annual emergence is something we unabashedly look forward to.  The anticipation that builds all year for a flavor of beverages, snacks, and desserts that is only available for a small window of time is exciting!

While Starbucks advertises their beloved PSL with lots of flair and Trader Joe’s has an entire section of their store dedicated to pumpkin-flavored goodies (which are quite delicious!), you may not realize that some of your favorite Jersey Shore ice cream parlors bring this flavor to their menus once the summer has ended!  We’ve rounded up all the best spots to score pumpkin ice cream the next time you’ll be spending a fall day enjoying the shore this month.  Cozying up in your favorite Pinkly Perfect sweatshirt and enjoying this seasonal treat with a great book on the beach sounds like an ideal way to spend a Saturday afternoon to us.

Beach Bag Must Haves

beach.bag.accessories.perfect.for.summer

While summer may be “ending,” we at Pinkly Perfect genuinely believe the best beach days are ahead of us! There’s still two weeks left before LDW and September is the shore’s best kept secret. The beaches are quiet, the water is warm, and it’s not boiling hot anymore. If you’re planning on soaking up the sun as much as we are, make sure your beach bag is stocked with all the necessities to maximize your beach day. Check out our “beach bag must-haves” below!

Newport Cosmetic Bag

$20 at pinklyperfect.com

PinklyPerfectNewportBagSummerReminders

Maybe you’re more careful than I am but whenever I forgo a smaller bag and simply toss my valuables straight into my beach bag, they end up all sunscreen-sticky and full of sand. To prevent this mess and the chance of wondering if your phone’s still receiving texts, make sure you pack a Newport Cosmetic Bag to store all your important stuff.

Headphones

pink.headphones

The easiest way to avoid a beach tagger pestering you about where your beach tag is by pretending you’re asleep. Headphones are necessary for this strategy as you genuinely won’t be able to hear them ask you! Instead of splurging, pick up a pretty pink & printed pair for $16.99 at target.com.

Traceless Hair Tie

pink.creaseless.hairtie

Let’s face it. We love getting our natural summer highlights but we know how beach days really mess up our hair. If you’re hoping your blowout will last you all weekend, make sure you pack some invisibobble, the original traceless hair ring. Available in every color imaginable (we prefer pink!), this telephone cord shaped hair ring will evenly distribute pressure along the hair, thus preventing a hair crease, headache, and even split ends!

Spry Stronger Longer Chewing Gum

spry.chewing.bubblegum

If your summer diet includes endless iced coffees, ice cream cones, and frozen margaritas, you’re going to need some extra help keeping your teeth clean and healthy all summer long. Switch out your current gum of choice for Spry Stronger Longer Chewing Gum, available for $5.99 at xlear.com. Spry gum tastes amazing, eliminates bad breath (hello, lifeguards!), while also cleaning your teeth and preventing cavities. Perfect!

Sunblock

clear.face.sunscreen

Sun block is a beach girl’s best friend. While getting tan is certainly always a summer goal of ours, getting sunburn is definitely not. Prevent going back to school with blistering, peeling skin and reapply sunscreen every couple hours. Our pick is Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen, which will help prevent breakouts too!

Best Beach Preservation Organizations to Donate to this Summer

beach.organizations.donations

Written by: Sarah Felbin

What would summer be without beach days? No matter what beach you go to or where in the country you are, long hours spent swimming and sunbathing are a big part of our favorite season – we can’t live without them! But beach days are only as good as the beaches you spend them at, and those beaches rely on our conservation efforts to stay beautiful for many summers to come.

Wondering how you can help? Donating to one of the hundreds of beach preservation organizations out there is a great place to start! See below for five of our favorites and make an impact on the beaches you love.

Clean Ocean Action is an organization dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s beaches from pollution, trash, and other substances that can be dangerous to wildlife. They also provide current news articles to inform the public about important political and policy developments that may affect the Jersey shore. If you aren’t in a position to make a monetary donation, you can donate your time and participate in one of their Beach Sweeps instead!

Oceana is dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans on a global scale.” Focusing mainly on repopulating and diversifying our oceans, Oceana aims to educate the public and pass legislation to raise awareness and affect change in the way we use the resources that cover 70% of our Earth. If donating money seems like a big commitment, you can sign up to receive their free weekly publication via e-mail, which includes updates about their work and action alerts.

The Surfrider Foundation is an organization created by surfers that works to “ensure clean water, healthy ocean and coastlines and accessible beaches for all.” They also have a strong focus on conservation and passing legislation – one of their biggest victories was banning plastic bags, which can be largely harmful to marine life, in many establishments in California. You can donate, sign up for their free newsletter, or find ways to volunteer at your local Surfrider chapter on their website.

The Plastic Oceans Foundation aims to educate the public about the dangers of plastic floating in our oceans. Their documentary, A Plastic Ocean, is a great place to start for those who want to learn more! You can donate as much or as little as you would like, and you can even donate to the organization’s other headquarters in the United Kingdom, Canada, or Hong Kong. Or, follow them on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for regular updates!

Mission Blue, also known as the Sylvia Earle Alliance, educates the public about marine conservation and Hope Spots under the direction of Dr. Sylvia Earle, who has dedicated her life to protecting and researching the ocean and its creatures. To learn more, you can watch their film, Mission Blue, on Netflix or research any of Dr. Earle’s other works (she even has a TED Talk!). Even if you can’t donate, their website is a great resource for those who love the ocean and want to learn more about its depths.

How to Spot a Pinkly Perfect Girl at the Beach

pinkly.perfect.beach.girl

Written by: Sarah Felbin

With sales already made in 19 different states across the country, Pinkly Perfect is growing now more than ever – which means you probably see other pink-loving fashionistas at the beach every weekend without knowing it. (So sad!) Fortunately for you, we created an easy 5-step guide to help find other Pinkly Perfect girls no matter what state you’re in!

1) She never goes anywhere without her trusty tote!

Pinkly.Perfect.Montauk.Beach.Bag1

Pinkly Perfect’s Beach Bag Montauk Tote, $20.00

Any Pinkly Perfect girl knows that a carry-all tote bag is an absolute must. It holds her favorite beach-day essentials in the summer and is a perfect grab-and-go closet must have in the winter. As we’ve always said, half the world’s problems could be solved if only we had something to carry them in! (Also, it’s the perf accessory that goes with literally any outfit. Need we say more?)

2) Her beach bag is flawlessly organized.

PinklyPerfectYourePerfectPouchK

Pinkly Perfect’s Newport “You’re Perfect” Cosmetic Bag, $20.00

A Pinkly Perfect girl gets it: Your beach bag holds everything you need for a perfect vacay day. Phone, coffee money, sunglasses, sunscreen, beach reads, games, flip flops – and that’s only the start! Naturally, then, her beach bag can be kind of messy. That’s why she always carries a pouch with her for the small stuff… And the glitter is just an extra bonus!

3) She knows who run the world: Girls!

PinklyPerfectBossBracelet

Pinkly Perfect’s “Boss” Madison Bracelet, $24.00

Pinkly Perfect girls always go after what they want, whether that’s a frappuccino with extra whipped cream or their own fashion line with worldwide press. They are firm believers in girl power and like to share their wisdom with everyone they meet, and what better way to do that than with style?

4) Summer is her favorite season.

PinklyPerfectAVSweatshirtWhite

Pinkly Perfect’s White Avalon Sweatshirt, $48.00

This one goes without saying, but a Pinkly Perfect girl’s favorite season starts with June and ends with August! While it may not be warm and sunny 365 days a year, a Pinkly Perfect girl is always in a summer state of mind and never stops looking on the bright side. Summer vibes only!

5) There’s a lot of beaches in the world, but only one beach is her beach!

PinklyPerfectAvalonKeychain1

Pinkly Perfect’s Coordinate Keychains (Avalon, shown), $18.00 each

No two beaches are alike, something every Pinkly Perfect girl knows goes without saying. Whether she goes to Avalon, Cape May, or Ocean City, her beach is her happy place, and she’s at her best when she’s by the sea. She carries a little piece of the shore with her wherever she goes, and she’s already planning next year’s Memorial Day trip before Labor Day is over! (She does, however, hide her white shoes just in time.)

July 4th To Do List: As Told by The Seven Guide

the.seven.guide.pinklyperfect

Written by: Brea Mealey, Founder of The Seven Guide & S E I Z E

The Fourth of July is, hands down, my favorite holiday weekend of the summer! The barbecues, fireworks, and red, white and blue everything makes for the quintessential shore weekend. To soak in all the Island has to offer this Fourth, I’ve rounded up 5 of my favorite new spots, along with tips for navigating each!

Shore Juice

#1. Kickstart your morning with a refreshing acai bowl from Shore Juice, tucked away in Harbor Square on 96th Street.  Little known fact is that Shore Juice offers a slew of bowl add-ons, like cacao nibs, goji berries, chia seeds, nutella, and pink Himalayan sea salt…none of which are listed on the menu!

PICK: The Nutty Bowl plus Pink Himalayan sea salt + a drizzle of nutella

Maryanne’s Pastry Shoppe

#2. While Maryanne’s Pastry Shoppe is a Sea Isle City veteran (since 1944!), they’re a relatively new player in the Seven Mile Island donut scene. Maryanne’s donuts, pastries, and crumb buns are made from scratch every day, with scrupulous attention to quality of ingredients (5 different types of sugar go into their donuts, alone!).

PICK: Filled Donuts, particularly the Powdered Cream

Located on the corner of 95th + 3rd.

The Watering Hull

#3. This second story restaurant and bar will instantly give you all the Island feels. With outdoor seating lined with twinkly lights, live music, and bountiful fresh seafood, The Watering Hull is our go-to spot for dinner and after-dinner drinks.

PICK: Build-Your-Own Poké Bowl with coconut quinoa, tuna, and citrus ponzu (a new addition to the summer 2017 menu!).

Located on the second level of Harbor Square.

#4. Soak in every last minute of daylight with a guided sunset Stand-Up-Paddleboard tour. Sunset SUP tours typically last 1.5 – 2 hours and leave from Harbor Outfitters’ location at 21st + The Bay. Be sure to apply some bug spray ahead of time, just in case!

Avalon Seafood

lobsterrollavalonseafood

#5. An oldie but goodie, Avalon Seafood offers the best take-out seafood platters. Pick up your dinner and walk a block or two to the bay to enjoy with a chilled bottle of rosé while the sun goes down.

PICK: Lobster Roll with corn on the cob

Located on 29th + Ocean.
